It’s that wonderful time of year when we reflect on what we did, what we learned, and where we went over the last 365 days.
Through the years Bermuda Run has remained a place where you can eat, play and stay— and it’s only gotten better with every passing year.
2022 was a memorable year with many activities, new developments, community involvement and local support. Take a look at a few highlights from Bermuda Run’s 2022 Year in Review.
1. We Found New Ways to Support Local in 2022
Supporting our local businesses has always been at the heart of Bermuda Run’s community. With local stores, restaurants, entrepreneurial ventures and organizations around every corner, our community is blessed with countless opportunities to support local.
In 2022, there were new businesses to join our community. Sam’s Ice Cream- Bermuda Run and Cardinal Creek Candles & Gifts to name a few. Some of Bermuda Run’s existing businesses expanded like Maddie Cakes opening the Crumb Box for local events.
As we go into 2023, we will continue to welcome new businesses and support our local business owners.
2. We Saw The Blue Heron Trail Taking Shape
Many residents in Bermuda Run have been keeping up with the progress of the Blue Heron Trail for several years. In 2022, we truly saw this trail begin to take shape. Work on the Blue Heron Trail will continue in 2023, and we eagerly anticipate this trail connecting Bermuda Run in new and exciting ways.
3. We Supported Our Local Farmers
The Bermuda Run Farmer’s Market is always one of the highlights of the year. From early spring to early fall, residents can come out to support our local farmers and vendors. Not only is the Farmer’s Market a place to find fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and other items, but it’s also a place to gather in community.
We are grateful for everyone who makes the Farmer’s Market possible behind the scenes, for the farmers & artisans who diligently labor and for each person who frequents the Farmer’s Market on Fridays to support our local farmers.
4. We Sang, We Danced, We Laughed
The Town of Bermuda Run and the Davie County Arts Council outdid themselves with the 2022 Summer Concert Series in Bermuda Run. The performances were stellar, the atmosphere was electric and the memories are priceless.
If you missed out on this year’s summer concerts, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for next year’s summer concert schedule! These concerts are a great family-friendly activity that everyone can enjoy.
5. We Celebrated in Bermuda Run
There were many celebrations that took place in Bermuda Run, but one particular season stands out from the rest— Christmas!
Christmas is a special time of year wherever you are, but it’s especially unique in Bermuda Run. Our town supported the 3rd Annual Light Up The Night in the Town of Bermuda Run to help raise funds for A Storehouse for Jesus & Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center, Employee Assistance Fund by purchasing/sponsoring lights or stars on the rooftop of Davie Medical Center. And of course, who could forget the kick-off to the holiday season with the annual Christmas in the Town of Bermuda Run!
As great as 2022 was, we have a feeling 2023 will be an even better year in Bermuda Run. To keep up with all that is to come in the new year, be sure to follow The Town of Bermuda Run on Facebook, subscribe to the town’s newsletter and, of course, follow Do A 180 on Facebook and Instagram.
