The Blue Heron Trail project has been an exciting advancement in the community and many have already enjoyed taking walks along this path since it officially opened in July of this year. But this is only just the beginning for the Blue Heron Trail.
Now, residents of the community are being invited to take part in leaving a lasting legacy and being a part of the history of Bermuda Run.
Many years ago, a few investors created a fund through the Davie Community Foundation – the Bermuda Run Community Vision Fund. This vision fund was created with the purpose of implementing special projects the town and community deemed appropriate, furthering the goals outlined in the comprehensive plan. It is through this fund and with the community’s support, the Bermuda Run Community Vision Fund will enhance and continue to support Bermuda Run with the Flags at the Blue Heron Trail Project.
The Flags at the Blue Heron Trail will honor our community with a stately three-flag overlook. The flag plaza, constructed in a mosaic of engraved pavers, is an opportunity for you to memorialize or honor a family member, a veteran, a grandchild, a place of business or club – even a beloved pet.
This legacy project is one you will want to be a part of and is one that will be a place of reflection and remembrance for many as it is situated along the newly constructed Blue Heron Trail.
How To Get Involved
As a member of the community, you can help make this vision a reality by purchasing a paver. Each engraved 4 x 8-inch paver will display the honoree’s name and message as you choose up to 3 lines of 20 characters each. Your $100 (per paver) tax-deductible donation to the Flags at the Blue Heron Trail is payable to the Davie Community Foundation which manages the Bermuda Run Community Vision Fund.
To purchase a paver, the engraved paver form must be submitted by mail, in person or online.
